Amazingly people have given up using the yellow pages to find your business, instead people use a variety of search engines when looking for a product or service but did you realize that 85% of any given market will first check out the internet? This is a staggering statistic regarding your market and should weight heavily when considering how to market and advertise your business. As a small or even large business owner you need to get a handle on how important it is to have your business on the internet, otherwise known as a web presence because in the near future almost all businesses will be located by internet searches. There’s more people who use the internet today than ever and they access the web through their phones, computers, cameras etc so, if your site doesn’t show up when they search, you just lost a customer.

A person with a cell phone can easily get on the internet and search for your website, that’s why it is so important to have your site optimized properly. Proper keywords used when your site is optimized will bring traffic to your website. Most importantly is consideration of the fact that most people use Google to search and if you aren’t one of the top three results, your traffic will suffer. Best case scenario would be to have your website show up for the number 1 spot on Google!

As a business owner, you most likely do not have the time to learn how to create websites, write and understand computer code, optimize your website for the search engines, get involved in social networking (MySpace, Facebook, etc.), utilize article marketing, set up a Pay Per Click campaign or do anything related to internet marketing! This stuff can be completely confusing, like Chinese to you, but it still needs to be done. It really can’t be ignored.

Considering the facts that so many people currently access the internet and the high degree of difficulty involved in getting your website to rank, it becomes very obvious that you should consider finding an internet marketing company that specializes in offline marketing or offline consulting. The increased exposure you get on the net will more than pay for these costs and will position your company website so it may continue to provide profits well into the future.

Here’s where most small business owners get confused. They hire someone to build a nice looking website and they think the process is completed. The sad fact is most website designers don’t have a clue about offline marketing and how to get a website on page 1 of Google.

You won’t find yourself on page 1 of Google by accident, the only solution is to work with an offline marketer or offline consultant. Offline marketers are experts in website design along with knowing how to set up autoresonders, optimize your web pages correctly and creating website traffic. They will consider your business as unique and find out what is needed to get your business to come up in a favorable position when somebody searches for your keywords. This approach takes everything into consideration, it requires some thinking and strategies needed to produce the kind of results that will bring you qualified website visitors via the free search engines.
