There are many ways and things that can destroy or cause damage for one’s wood furniture. Two of the most common ways that people experience wood damage are through liquid damage and simply the wood furniture aging through time. By restoring the piece of furniture, one is ensuring a longer life for one’s piece of wood furniture.

Has your wood furniture experienced water or other liquid damage?

Water and other liquids can cause extensive damage when they soak into the grain of the wood. After water soaks into wood furniture, the wood dries out, warps and possible loose its coloring. The longer liquids, like one’s drinks, soak into the wood the more damage that the wood will suffer from.

There are treatments for wood and wood furniture pieces that will restore wood to its original, natural looking state. One does not have to live with the distortion in their wood furniture or try to find ways to cover it up.

Like everything else, wood furniture ages over time. As it gets older, it can weaken, chip away and its paint or finishing can be destroyed. It is far better to have your cherished wood item restored then to be afraid to touch or use it. Also, by having it fully restored, you will be able to pass it down to future generations so they can cherish and value it as much as you have.

There is a difference between having your wood restored or refinished. Refinishing involves taking off the old finish and reapplying a new finish. Although this is still a good and viable option, it is much hard on your wood then simply having your wood furniture restored. When wood furniture is restored, it revives the old finish and keeps that original look.

Craftsman use special tools that help clean and restore one’s wood to its former glory.
