The Town of Wolfeboro was granted by Governor John Wentworth in 1759. The name Wolfeboro was named after a hero of the Battle of Quebec, General Wolfe. Governor John Wentworth made his mansion in Smith Pond (now Lake Wentworth) and his mansion was made the first resort in the area. That is why the Town of Wolfeboro is considered as the oldest 4 seasons get-away.

In the first few years of The Town of Wolfeboro the community was a farming community. The location of the town was the stage route from Dover to Conway, which gave the opportunity to buy and sell lumber and apple products. The town was even considered or called the Slab City. It was Slab City because of the traffic of limber and wood products going in the town. Over the years the town has grown from agriculture and lumber to selling commercial products like woolen blankets, shoes, clay pipes, excelsior, dairy products, pewter, clothes, etc.

The fairs in Colorado are indeed an experience. Of course, you’ll get the normal festival staples such as rides and good food, but aside from these, you get a decent amount of fair animals. Sea lion and tiger performances are abundant, in particular.

And yet, amidst all this vibrancy, one cannot discount one additional factor in these fairs. One of the important parts of the festival is the well-loved craft shows. A fair just isn’t complete, in my opinion, without these talented people showcasing their wares.

Perhaps you’ve been into the crafts, as well. I imagine you’ve done something artistic at least once in your life; human beings are very creative creatures. However, many let go of their artistic side as they mature; opting to instead live a mundane life. Leave the art to the artists.

But if you really wanted to, it’s never too late to pick up that talent again. A bit of dusting off and polishing with practice and you’ll get the hang of doing your craft once more. You may even reach a certain level of skill and even better; surpass the talent you left before. A bit more sharpening, and you may even amaze yourself, being able to do what you thought only “artists” could.
