Since 1973 when there was a Kentucky Derby Festival there was a Great Balloon Race. If first started as only 7 hot air participants now it has grown to 35 participants. Lately the Great Balloon Race has been a week long event not like before when it was just a race.
On April 23 to April 25, 2009 the Great Balloon Festival will start. The first event of the festival will be the Great Balloon Tour. This activity started last 2006 and is considered as one of the new hot air balloon activity. This is a thirty minute race that starts of from different location.
The Great Balloon Glimmer will be on Thursday before the Great Balloon Race; it will kick off the Kroger fest-a-Ville and will signal the opening of the Chow Wagon. The Great Balloon Glimmer is smaller then the Great Balloon Glow. Where the hot air balloons will be lighted and rise a little from the ground to create a beautiful effect against the night sky.

A great thing about being human is the want to have an interesting hobby. There are a lot of people who are very fond of sports, whether as a spectator or as an actual jock; they can be found on the varsity teams of High Schools or after-school clubs and gain praise from excelling at physical tasks. Yet others are into exercising their minds and do complicated mind acrobatics, believing that good grades will get them into an Ivy League University.
Of course, there are those, like me, who excel in the fine arts or craft making. We take pride in seeing our ideas come into physical form and shape from raw materials, be it a sculpture, a canvas, unique pieces of jewelry or bending wires to form figures. There’s a satisfaction when someone praises our work and our talents. When someone gives you high regard, the emotions you feel from the compliments are a natural high.

Did you ever get that mood to just make something from nothing? Have you ever felt the very human feeling of trying to piece together your thoughts with the physical, to create a sort of metaphysical object? That is the artist’s spirit; a desire inherent (though dormant in most) of humankind.
My muse has been missing for quite some time now. The past few months, my inspiration has dwindled into almost nothingness, and my attempts at making arts and crafts have always turned out beneath my expectations. It was lacking in the spirit and that extra bit of attitude to stand out.
Life as a working mother has taken its toll on my craftsmanship. I work a decent job to get my family by, but in doing so, has severely cramped my artistic passions. I then began a hunt for my missing muse, so I scheduled a few days off from work to go to a few sites around Indiana. I made a trip to parks, scheduled a hiking expedition, and even persuaded my husband to take me along on one of his fishing trips. I always had a notebook and pencils with me, ready for when the muse struck and got me sketching or drawing at the moment.
