My first tip is to profit from others. There isn’t a point in reinventing the wheel. Figure out what other franchises have done to achieve their success. You may want to go looking at places and establishments and franchises that are going to be successful.

For starters, really go to your competition. I know this doesn’t sound like something you are going to take pleasure in doing, but think of it as research. Go observe and work out the approach in which they’ve got their shops setup. Work out what kind of menus they have. A coffee shop is more than simply coffee. The more competition you take a look at , the better an idea you’ll have of the approach in how to compete.

Next, you’d like to study their advertising campaigns. Everybody advertises differently based on their USP, but they all do have stuff in common. Look for thier similarities. There are going to be some basic things that you’re going to want to relinquish to your target market. The overall primary things are:

The general quality of the coffee and food
The general atmosphere of the store
The worth

A lot of folks say that there’s not a big difference between one coffee and another. Those people are NOT true coffee drinkers. Trust me…there is a difference. If you’re taking a look to cater to the general guy driving an 18 wheeler on route 9, he’s going to expect a better quality of coffee than the general guy who has a $2,000 suit and doesn’t buy a thing off the typical rack. You have to understand who your audience is and what kind of coffee they are going going to expect.

Same factor with the general atmosphere. Some people just would like their coffee to go and that’s it. Others would like to sit down and relax and get pleasure from their brew and while they’re doing it, they do not wish to take a seat in a dump…though some folk won’t mind as long as the general coffee is good.

Finally, there is the price. Whereas we’re not talking about a big item like a car, some people aren’t going to require to spend more than 50 cents for a cup whereas others can gladly pay $2 or more if the overall coffee is really exceptional. Again, know who your demographics are.

By going to other coffee shops, especially ones in your city, you’ll get a good feel for who your market is. From there, it’s just a matter of catering to it.
